The Unsolved Murder of Delia Adriano

Murdered September 26, 1982
Oakville, Ontario 
Age: 25

It’s been 38 years. Someone knows who killed Delia Adriano.

On Sunday, September 26, 1982, 25-year-old Delia Adriano was dropped off at her parents home in Oakville by her fiancé Danny Dutra. It was approximately 9:30 p.m.

The couple had spent the day together, watching a soccer game and going to a barbecue.

At 10:30 p.m., witnesses reported hearing a scream.

Other witnesses reported a woman matching Delia’s description being forced into a car by a man. The witnesses reported hearing an argument, and seeing the car drive away with its lights off. Her purse was found on the sidewalk near her home the next day.

Found November 6, 1982

On November 6, 1982, Adriano’s nude body was found by Del Parcham, a woodcutter, in a wooded area known as Lover’s Lane, at the intersection of Third Side Road and Second Line, near Milton/Campbelleville.

Her cause of death was not determined. Adriano’s family and police believe Delia knew the person who killed her.

Her fiancé is not a suspect.

Description of Suspect and Vehicle

The vehicle used in Delia Adriano’s abduction and murder is described as a dark coloured Chevrolet Chevette (or similar type vehicle) two door, automatic transmission with three (3) stripes along the side of the vehicle. The vehicle had Ontario licence plates.

According to Canadian Crimeopedia, the car was seen parked in the driveway of a model home sales office nearby.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 7" to 5 9" tall, medium build with brown hair feathered back to the neck. 

The investigation is ongoing.

On Sunday, September 26, 1982 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Delia Adriano, 25 years, was last seen walking towards the side entrance to her home on Wildwood Drive in the Town of Oakville, Ontario, where she had been dropped off by a friend. Later the same evening at approximately 10:30 p.m., witnesses reported hearing a woman screaming in the area of Wildwood Drive and Slade Crescent. A young woman fitting Delia’s description was observed being forced into a dark sub-compact vehicle by a male suspect. A struggle continued inside this vehicle before the vehicle drove away with its lights turned off.

On Saturday, November 6, 1982 the body of Delia Adriano was located in a wooded area near 2nd Line and #3 Side Road, Milton, Ontario.
