In the early morning hours of March 8, 1985, an unidentified male was seen walking on the Miles Hart Bridge, over the Burntwood River in Thompson, Manitoba.
Approximately 10 minutes later, a witness returned and discovered a pile of clothing on the bridge.
The clothing was later identified as belonging to 27-year-old Johnson William Beardy. It is assumed he took his own life, however his remains have never been recovered. According to an archived page for the Manitoba Police, no foul play is suspected in his disappearance.
Johnson’s case is no longer listed on the website for the Manitoba Association Chiefs of Police (MACP) website, but his case is listed with the RCMP.
