On August 13, 1995, 40-year-old Marie-Josée Boisjoli left her home in Laval, QC, mentioning that she was going to an appointment. She gave no further details.

The next day, her vehicle and personal belongings were found at the family cottage, located in the Gélinas Lake area in Mont-Tremblant. She has not been seen since.
